Louisiana laws are sort of strict but I am going with 17% on all 4 of my windows. Gonna cost me about 20 bucks. A guy I work with does tinting as a side job. I guess it pays to be a firefighter and know most of the cops around town. If anything when you see the fuzz just roll them down.

I tried the medical condition with a letter from the opthamologist. If did not fly to well since the vehicle I was driving was a covertible. Sensitivity to light and convertibles don't add up.

The other part is that in Michigan if you have a doctors excuse for tinted windows, you have to file it with the DMV. There is a notation made on your driving record. If you are pulled over driving a vehicle without tinted windows and have this noted in the system, you can get a ticket for that.

the whole thing became such a hassle that it just wasn't worth it.

this thread has become interesting.

how about if you say your wife or someone else that uses the vehicle needs the tint and they leave the roof on when they have it?

i've heard before that the dark tint is illegal, but a LOT of cars around here have it. i figured i might as well join the crowd.

maybe i'll talk to some people i know that have the tint and see if they've had any problems.

I think it all has to do with whether or not the officer who pulls you over feels that what you are stating is valid. To me, I would rather not have to deal with the possibilities. Besides, if I had it my way, the windows would only be able to be seen when it is snowing.

No need to tint. You'll just end up with the top off, windows down (or doors off) come summer time anyways.

Mississippi is getting tough on tint laws. Nobody will give inspection stickers if your tint is too dark. Used to be able to slip a few extra bucks, not anymore I paid 65.00 for the front side windows with lifetime warranty.
