Will it fit? HELP (pics)
So, i need some help trying find out if my jeep will fit in my garage.
I have a JKU with a hard top and a 2.5" coil lift. On stock tires the jeep does fit.
I want to put 35" but I'm worried that it will lift the jeep and it wont fit. I might have to go with 33" The wife doesn't want to use a soft top.
So my question is, will 35" tires be too much?

I have an unlimited with TeraFlex 2.5" coil and shocks on 35" MTRs with inches to spare in a standard garage opening. At work so I can't measure. No room for a rooftop carrier though.

I think you will be fine with 35s if thats all you're changing. Not sure how tall your stock tires are, but if they are 31s and you go to 35s, you are really only going to be 2" taller. You have to split the difference in half. Use radius not diameter...

My stock tires, with no passengers, no cargo and 1/4 tank are 31"
My only other thought would be to add a steel rear bumper that would bring the back down and extra 1/2"-1"

Just a thought.....is your door up all the way? From the pics it looks as though the bottom panel is haning a little into the opening. Can you adjust the stops or track more so it opens all the way up as in level with the tracks? Could be a couple of inches gained right there.

Example: Current tire is 32" and new tire is 35" inches... (35 -32) / 2 = 1.5" added height..
Looking at your pictures, it looks like you cannot afford more than 1.75" extra height (I noticed in the picuture that you are not measuring at the heighest spot on your hardtop, you need to measure on top of the ridges)..
You did not mention what your current tire diamter is, so you will have to put that into the formular. Also keep in mind that some 35" tires are not always exactly 35 inches.. some come in at 34.5" new..
Another thing you could look into is to see if you garage door torsion bar is tentioned enough.. you might be able to tweak it a little or adjust your garage door opener stops to gain another 1/4"-1/2" extra clearance.
