I found my 2008 at a dealer. I used cars dot com.they had a jku with 10k more miles then mine and were still asking 6 grand more.

I have two kids and never would be in a Jeep if it didnt have 4 doors! We traded in a mini van for our JKU and the 2 door would not of worked at all!!!!!

I think you see more jku's for sale because more of them are sold to people that are just replacing their 4 door suv or minivan with the jeep. Some are new to Jeeps and are not use to the little problems we all call Jeep things. Poor mileage,leaking tops, lack of power,etc. You see people on here everyday crying about water leaks. They get tired of it and go back to other SUVs.

I would say that 2 door owners trade more often to get the JKU.

Jeep themselves have said they've sold more JK 4-doors than 2-doors since their inception.

I thought it was because Jeep stopped making 2 doors I heard that when the 4x4 Smart car came out, jeep quit producing 2 doors due to the competition.

This is the most plausible theory so far. The 2012 JKU is a substantial improvement over prior years, while the 2012 2 door is not so different. The mystery may be solved!
