I signed it a diesel powered jk would be awesome. I'm pretty sure they already offer a 3.0l diesel in the grand Cherokee so maybe it's just a matter of swapping power plants kinda like adding a hemi?

Agreed. And why is diesel fuel so much higher again? At any rate, I'll be buying one. The mpg is supposed to be significant.

People with the 4bt cummins diesel are claiming 25 to 30 mpg

Actually I just read that we will have a diesel Grand Cherokee and Wrangler in the 2-3 years . I will be trading up when they do come out for sure. Here is the press release I saw.
