I would 1st go to Youtube and watch a few videos on installing the soft top. That way you'll get a better idea of all the parts you'll be needing when/if you buy something used. The main thing you'll want to make sure to get the plastic door surrounds.

This is a 4 door install, but it gives a good idea of all the necessary parts you'll need.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sb-scTkvg84&nohtml5=False If you're buying NEW, then look around because there is a "dual top" option where it comes with both the Hard and Soft top. That's what I got when I purchased my JK new and I'm happy I have both tops. As well, if you're buying new and looking at Hard tops, you may want to negotiate with the Dealer to add the soft-top as well, so you essentially get the dual top option. They can order the soft top as an accessory item. Tell them you really want to buy the JK but you are looking for one with the dual top option to haggle them down on price.

If that doesn't suit you, then Craigslist is a good place to shop for a soft-top. If you're interested in dual tops, then definitely buy one with a Hard Top because getting a soft top is much easier to find and usually cheaper in the used market.

Here's some in Dallas area on Craigslist (You'll want to make sure they're for a 2 door and includes everything):

Or you could go with a Bowless top.

Easiest install of a jeep accessory ever. All i needed was a flat head screwdriver to completely install alone in one hour.

Take down is quick and easy as well. The factory bow stacks are kinda junkie.

craigslist! I bought a factory twill softtop in dallas for $800.. it was still wrapped up in the plastic.. I would also absolutely hold out for a twill top.. I have had 3 softtops on my 2012 and the twill is by far the best. I had a factory top from an '08 JKU, a newer factory sailcloth top and this twill top.

so, look on craigslist and hold out for a twill top. deals are out there for sure!

Sounds good. The ones I posted from Craigslist were between $200-$400. So it looks like he's got some options, depending on his budget.

If you make it to Maine this summer I will sell you mine for $50. Off a 08 but it fit my 09 without any major issues

The best deal I've found on a TrekTop NX through Rebel Offroad, but not the rep, it was cheaper on the website although they don't have free shipping. I bought a trektop for my previous jeep last year for under $600 shipped to my door. Now the cheapest anyone has quoted me is $660.

Apparently it's not a good idea to ask about free or cheaper shipping. It's no longer this price. They changed it while I was trying to pay
