Where does the name "Rescue green" come from?

Where does the name "Rescue green" come from?
Are there green jeeps out there used for some kind of rescue?
I did a google search and found a 2004 Rescue Jeep concept. Does it come from that cuz the color is similar?

it was suppose to be one of those special colors only avail every 5 or 10 years.... but its been availiable since the jk's came out... i dont think it is for the 2011 though...

IIRC, Rescue Green was the first color to be discontinued after '07, then it reappeared a couple years later.

the only reason i know this is because I had a buddy with a 1997 one, with it next to my jeep there is virtually no difference except forsome more metallic flakes.

I think the color itself has been around, but the current name is from the Rescue concept. Same thing with the Gladiator rims on the Sahara. They're based off the rims for the Gladiator concept which was a test platform for the JK.

Here's some info from Chrysler on 2011 colors:
"The 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is available in the following exterior
paint colors: Natural Green Pearl Coat, Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl
Coat, Bright Silver Metallic Clear Coat, , Flame Red Clear Coat,
Detonator Yellow, Deep Cherry Red, Sahara Tan, Cosmos Blue and Bright
White and Mango Tango. The Cosmo Blue and Bright White exterior paint
colors were both a late availability as of September 16th, 2010 within
the ordering system."
