When to put the hardtop back on
#21
Just bought the Bestop Cleaner and Protector....going to give it a good clean this weekend or maybe even next weekend and put the hard top back on. I am trying to delay it....dont want to miss out on a NICE TOPLESS RUN!
I might even wait till the first snowfall and then drop the top and go for a drive just to get some good reactions from people!

Being that I am someone atleast from the northeast US.
I have a hard top for my JK so its already on. However since the weather will be semi nice this weekend I will be putting the hard top on my CJ7 for winter. I would recommend you do it this weekend too. The problem with waiting is that not only will you be doing it in the cold unless you have a garage. The material of the top is not very flexible or forgiving when its cold. I don't like to miss out of topless runs either but I don't really expect it to get above 70 here in PA more than a few more times. Atleast in the past few weeks its been cold on the way to work( Boy did I get weird looks being dressed up in my CJ with not top or doors in the mid 50's) Thats too cold for me but atleast the drive home was nice. Now its not hitting above 60 - 65 everyday and 40's at night. Its time for the hardtop.

It's funny how our "nice" season here in the desert of Arizona is opposite of the rest of North America. I've had the hard top on all summer to try and keep the air conditioning inside. I'm going to be taking it off this weekend because it's finally suppose to be cooling off. It's been hovering around 100F all through September, and is predicted to be in the 80s for Sat and Sun. YEA!!!!
I'll probably run for a while with no top at all, and then when the mornings get too cold to drive to work that way, I'll put the soft top on.

April to September - Softop
October to April - Hardtop
Reason for getting the hardtop on is we get some crazy snowfalls of over 2 ft in 24 hours and it's that nice heavy wet stuff. Also, I find the hardtop keeps the heat in a little longer and a nice feature during the slushy, sloppy, road grim days the rear wiper comes in handy with the hardtop!
