Default Wheels/Tires Advice

2007 Unlimited Sahara
No lift

Should I go with:
a) 17" wheels with larger tires
b) 18" wheels with smaller tires
c) send me best options (sizes, brands)

I just want to look mean, keeping the nice ride, and making my fellow owners proud.

HELP!

i would go with 15s or 16s because tires are cheaper and you can but bigger tires on with out a lift

????

Not all 15" rims fit...

and the overall size of the tire doesnt change with rim size.

a 33" tire is a 33" tire.

it is 33" on 17's and 33" on 18's, and the same as a 33" tire on 15's.

If you are looking to replace your stock wheels, then I'd go with 17" as there seem to be more options out there at that size than the 18". As far as tires go, it depends on what you will be doing with them. Look around on the site, when you see the general look you want, most people place what they have in their signature. If they don;t send them a private message to see what they have.

think 16s are bigger than 17s so if you but a 33 with 17s be an inch tall than if you used a 16

Incorrect.

a 33" tire is a 33" tire. the change in rim size just changes sidewall height, not overall diameter.

I keep thinking 17's and 35's for my new jeep, but someone here had 18 kmc's with 35's, and I really liked that. I am leaning toward the kmc enduros in black, but the backspacing is 5 inches, which I'm not sure about. I'm also planning on BFG km2's, and 3 -4 inch lift.

What really is the kicker is a 33 in this brand is not a 33 in this brand they just use the 33 as the average size and it can actually be like 32 1/2 yet called a 33.
Now as far as rims if you are thinking of replacing a 16" rim don't just get a bigger tire to go on it. If you are dead set on replacing the rims look for a 15" that will fit a JK because there is a hell of a whole lot more options in tires. If you are buying new either the stock 17" or 18" gives you the same tire size or so I understand it. If this is an option though go witht he Rubi 17" MT tires because they look and perform well.

I am in the same dilemma looking at getting new's rim's for our Jeep Sahara and I don't have the $ to get a lift...but I should look at a the TF BB.

I am actually thinking of 16's more over 17's for the cost and the look of more rubber. I won't touch 18's as the tire & rim cost is still pretty high especially looking at 5 new rims and 5 new tires.

I am leaning towards the 16's with the option of 33's in either a 11" to 12" wide tires in the Toyo M/T's

285/75R16's = approx 33x11.5
305/70R16's = approx 33x12.0

The rims I am looking at 4 inch BS .... a 12.5" wide tire will stick out about 2 to 2.5 inches out from my stock flares...and will be an issue.
