wheels and tires?
So I got a little bit of advice last night on how wheels and tires are bought by my little brother ..
I don't know a whole too lot about it. New to everything. SO my question .. I am going to run 35's on my 08 4dr. The RE 4.5" LA kit is getting installed next week ..
as for wheels what size do I buy? Whats the backspacing? How does tire rub happen, would I have to go to bigger wheel flares?
Any and all help needed pleaes ...
this is the setup me and my brother picked out last night ... will it work with the lift and my JK?

Hope you did not order yet, as the tires you ordered are 12.50x15.
The wheels are 15x7.
Running 12.50" tires on a 7" rim is asking for trouble. Although some have run 12.50's on 7, the max I would go is 10.5".
I run 33x10.50 on a 7" rim with a backspacing of 4.25 on my 94XJ and it is a good combination.
Backspacing is how far the wheel sits back once it is mounted to the hub.
In other words if you would lay the wheel face down, with the backside up, then take a straight edge, and put it on the wheel flange that mounts to the hub, then take a measuring tape and measure from the straight edge to the outside of the wheel, that measurement would be the backspacing.
The wheels you have chosen have a backspacing of 4". Yes you might rub the inside a bit at full turn, however you can compensate by adjusting your wheel locks. In addition your tires will most likely stick out a bit past your flairs.
Might I ask why you went to a 15" wheel. One thing for sure, you'll have plenty of sidewall for a nice soft ride. But then again make sure the sidewall on that tire has a good ply rating.

I am replacing my driveshafts and .... upgrading gears when I get the money.
LOL the driveshafts and t-case yoke were another 900$ on top of my lift and shocks that were 4000! Yah ... just a little broke right now!

okay .. well i totally need help then.
I have no idea what to order .... or get ... gonna have a 4.5" lift ... I don't want to do 37's .. cause I want room to flex .. as so my husband put it, which is why we got the 4.5" not the 2" ...
so ... what do I do for wheels and tires? I am a bit lost .. I do better visually! :(

2.5" and 35's. he's got plenty of room to flex. he would have WAY more droop if he had the right length shocks on there.
i still think 4.5" is going to be too tall for 35's, but itsyour rig. it'll look cool.
a taller spring won't get you more flex. it will get you more uptravel assuming you hvae the right shocks and bumpstops setup for it.

For more flew and travel and articulation or is that "flex" also .. ? New to all this .. i feel dumb cuase I am a gal, and its taking forever to learn it all.
I could do 37's .. i dunno ...
