Within a week of buying it, my brand new $36k sticker 2011 Rubicon was covered in mud. Within a month, it was lifted. A month later it was 35's and new wheels. With less than 3000 miles it's seen a lot of mud, rocks, and sand. That's what Jeeps are for. I don't know why so many people buy Wranglers and never wheel them. There are so many cars and trucks that make better daily drivers, a Wrangler seems like a terrible choice if you plan to stick to the pavement. It's a lot like when I had my Elise and people would talk about buying a Lotus to commute in and never track it. Sure you can do it, but why wouldn't you buy something else?

I paid off our JKU this past fall, but I still wheeled it while we had payments. It's also my family's daily driver. I enjoy every off-road trip I have taken and would still wheel it even if we still had payments!

DD and weekend warrior. All stock thus far and it has surprised me - both on road comfort and off road ability.
AEV 4.5 premium, 35" Nitto's and ARB on board air next week!
Then to OBX next weekend (again)...
Yup, has to be this way, mall crawling is no way for a Jeep to spend its days...

I was wheelin' the day after buying mine.... only reason it took me that long was because paperwork took until after dark ![Clap](https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/images/smilies/clap2.gif)

Of course a BIG part of the reason why I purchased a used jeep was so I wouldn't feel nearly as bad about draggin' past rocks and trees.... I might have a hard time doing that if she were new from the manufacturer... So I certainly don't hold it against the guys that wait for that 1st shopping cart ding before wheelin'

I wouldnt have bought it and make payments on it if my intentions werent to offroad the s#$t out of it! It is my toy and daily driver, I couldnt afford to have both so I compromised.
