Couldn't agree more. That's in part why I got a 4door Jeep this time around. I try to bring 3 friends every time. Especially if they have never been off road before.

so right...
with any kind of 'extreme' pursuit you have to at least double up...

you could lose your life just a few miles from help...
if you don't have a buddy for backup.

Survival/safety gear comes first, starting with water & food, followed by shelter, protection (clothing, fire starter, and if need be a weapon) & rescue gear.

Large tool bag with most everything I need to make minor to moderate trail repairs.

Container with fluids (lubricants, coolant, etc) small spare parts, fuses, and other odds & ends like zip ties & duct tape.

I have mounted on the roll cage a CO2 tank, but also carry a small compressor in case I run out

2 fire extinguishers

After 2 incidents, I now carry a spare battery (eventually will do a dual battery set up), but having a spare is nice in case someone else has a problem.
