Usually 20-21 MAX with top on, only slightly more with top off. Some of you fawkers must be deaf, I thought my hearing was poor after two decades of drums and shows.

Provided that I'm not attempting a meaningful conversation (like a discussion about Jeep parts), I run my volume at about 20-22 with the top on. 24-26 is generally where I sit with the top off.

That's where I feel comfortable in terms of hearing distortion-free sound...anything beyond that and I start to hear that I'm pushing the system harder than it wants to be pushed.

This is exactly what I do for the same reason. I can't stand it when people overdrive their speakers to the point of distorting the sound.

I love music loud but the stock speakers are just not good enough to go above 25. If I had got good aftermarket speakers I would go louder with the top off but not with the stockers.

Wow, I usually only get mine up to around 14 or 15 with the top up and the low 20's without the top.

WOW! I have worked around Jets for 9 years now and can't count how many times I've been caught on the ramp without hearing protection. I was pretty sure I was going deaf until I read these posts. I have a hard top- all on I am at 16-17 max. Freedom panels off- 17-19. Haven't had the whole top off yet.
