What model to modify and which is better to do?

Wow, tough crowd. It was a joke dude.
I like the Teraflex just fine.
The only lift issues i know of for sure with any kit are that there is a question when using the track bar relocation bracket possibly causing undue stress & breakage. Other than that, your probably going to get mostly unbacked opinions. The thing is new, lifts havent been on them long enough for anyone to have a solid set of facts in any direction.

hey no problem, just wondering why you thought that.. I understand now and I do agree that they haven't been around long enough to know for sure. Thanks though and don't worry you don't have a tough crowd just one looking for answers.
Its all good
keep it all coming

I just want to know which is the better and in the long run more feasible idea to build a great jeep JK?
Should I go less expensive model with no options (i.e. unlimited sahara nothing added, base model) and just put the best on it?
OR...
Get the unlimited rubicon and then make the upgrades that it doesn't come with?
I apologize before hand if this has already been asked if so just direct me to the link and I will follow with my tail between my legs.
Thanks,
Jesse

Did you read through this thread? https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/show...highlight=make
It may answer some of your concerns.

Just read through that thread and I am pretty convinced now that I want to just go with the Rubi. I just feel that that would be the best route less headache. It would just be great off the lot and a lift and protection for the front rear and sides is all I would need. Other dodas would come later and slowly evolve into the vehicle I want.
Another thing that would help is the piece of mind with the warrenty even though I know that it would go out the window with the warrenty but the parts that I wouldn't have to modify would still be under warrenty.
Just as a matter of where this post has gone what exactly goes out of warrenty with a lift?

if DC determines that the modification was the cause of the failure, your warranty won't cover it.

So I cancelled my order and grabbed a Rubi off the lot (the only one within 300 miles, btw...). No regrets. None.
I love my Jeep.

My 2 cents - unless you're either only planning to do very mild off-roading with fairly limited mods (doesn't sound like your situation) or are planning on going extreme (larger than 37-inch tires and/or swapping out front and rear axles), the Rubi makes the most sense from a monetary standpoint. I don't think you'd be making a mistake deciding to go with an X or a Sahara and build it up. You can clearly build up a X or Sahara that is better off-road than a stock Rubi, but I think it will cost more and you won't necessarily have the protection of the factory warranty for the parts that you install. Unless you're going to go really extreme and just tear off the Rubi parts regardless - in that case it makes no sense to get a Rubi IMHO.
