A wrangler is like a fine woman. If you want it to work right, you got to keep fooling with it all the time.

I've owned 4 Jeeps - a '90 YJ (part amc, part Chevy 2.5l 4cyl, part Renault w/ 5spd), '99 TJ (Chrysler), a '94 XJ (Chrysler - but designed by Renault?), and an '07 JK (Chrysler).

They were all good, all capable, all fixable, all upgradable.

I'd take any one of them back, loved them all...

But an aerodynamic, 2 seat, sport-Jeep? No thanks. You can have it.

I use my Jeeps for:

Commuting to work
Getting to remote trout streams
Towing boats
Towing cars
Pickup-truck duties
Towing my trailer
Canoe trips
Vacations
Inclement weather vehicle

It does it all... (They all did, actually)

Island Boy...
And you're saying a more aerodynamic Jeep is going to hinder you from doing these thing?? Or are you like many people just reluctant for change even though sometimes it may be for the better? I don't see any down side to making a Wrangler more aerodynamic, I see a lot of upside. The only reason some one would be against is for cosmetic reasons which I can't argue with because looks are subjective.

Default I'm all for it

But I'm a traditionalist, as I suspect most of us are. I want modern reliability w/ offroad capability, and some link to tradition. My JK does it all for me, in style...

4x4's aren't radically different from each other, style-wise - LR's, Jeeps, Toyota LandCruisers, etc. The real ones, that are actually used.

My dream vehicle is a D110 or D90, Camel Trophy equipped.

But, cost wise, I can buy 2-3 Jeeps for that, and run them all for less. I like 'em stock, or slightly modded. No jacked up Jeep for the Island Boy.

That's just me, though - I'm sorta weird, I miss my 2.5l YJ.

Island Boy...

I think the spelling makes a Wrangler a Wrangler.
