What happens to our Lifetime Powertrain Warranty?
Has there been any discussion on what a Chrysler merger would do to the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty? If Chrysler ceases to exist, I guess the warranty would as well????

I'd think if the details of the merger provided for the acquisition of the liabilities as well as for the assets of Chrysler, the warranty would be picked up by the new owner.

The Lifetime Powertrain warranty is a legal and binding CONTRACT with buyer and manufacturer and as such, will be the responsibility with whomever ends up with all of Chrysler's holdings.

Cut and paste from the warranty:
Looks like it'll be up to the lawyers in Michigan to determine if the warranty will survive a merger.
4.4 Governing Law and Other Terms:
All of the warranties, except for the Federal Emissions
and noise warranty and the California
Emissions warranties, are made under Michigan law,
and Michigan law will be used to interpret them.
Punitive, exemplary or multiple damages may not be
recovered unless applicable state or local law
prohibits their disclaimer. No person, including
Chrysler employees or dealers may modify or waive
any part of these warranties.

It would be no different than when Plymouth or Oldsmobile shut down. Warranties were still honored as long as they were still in terms, an GM dealership for Oldsmobile or Chrysler dealership for Plymouth would be required to do warranty work. The new owners would take on that responsibility regardless whether the name existed or not. We all know Jeep will still be around, so if it's sold, whoever buys it, will still maintain them.
