Default What is a good deal - 2012 Unlimited - Sahara?

First post! I am new to the forum and am looking for opinions...

One of the Jeeps I am looking at is as follows:

MSRP is $34,855.00 for a 2012 Sahara w/manual trans

Pricing breakdown with options is as follows:

BASE SAHARA = $30,745
OPTIONS are:
color matching hard top = $1715
addl. air bags = $490
temp control = $155
Trac-lock limited slip diff = $295
Trailer tow group = $270
Connectivity group = $385
Delivery = $800

I am currently at $32900 (before TTL) in negotiations. Truecar for my area says I am close at the current number. I have alternate financing (not through the dealership) already set up.

For those of you who have recently purchased your Jeep...what are your opinions of the deal as it stands right now?

Thanks in advance...

It's just OK. In the NYC area I was able to get 12% off MSRP on my Sahara. You're at a tad bit under 6%. Not bad but not great either.

Here's my breakdown..hope it helps

No incentives.. Just Truecar printout

2012 Sahara Unlimited
24G
Max Tow
Connectivity
Leather
Anti Spin Diff
Dual Top
Auto Temp Control
Remote Start

MSRP $36,550.00 INV $34,283.00
Purchased $32,283!

HB: $1000.
FFP: $33,804.
EP: $32,513.

Is it a good price? Yes.
Could it be better? Yes.

The important question you need to ask yourself is if you can afford the, assumed, payments.

No one is going to get the exact same price, especially when you consider regional markets, dealership rapport, option and model pricing. If the vehicle noted is what you want and you can afford it, go for it.

If you are buying off the lot....this is the best time of year to buy.

For a Sahara? I "almost" purchased one yesterday....but we ended up $800 apart on trade-in.

It had an advertised price....14% below MSRP. That is basically empolyee pricing (5% below invoice) and no hold-back.

That dealer wasn't the only one I've seen at 14% below MSRP.

Pretty much EVERY dealer will do employee pricing right now to move units off the lot before year end. Employee pricing (5% below invoice) is roughy 11% below MSRP on a Sahara.

I just agreed to 8% below msrp on a 2012 JKU Rubi.

I'm happy with that deal. It boils down to whether you think it's a good deal or not. I know some people are happy paying just under msrp.

Exactly. Somebody will always be able to work out a better deal than you did. It's the nature of the beast. The last thing you want is buyer's remorse and the best way to get it is to learn what others paid. I recently bought a 2012 Crush JKUR and I have no regrets. I negotiated what was to me a fair deal. If you think it's fair, go for it. If you don't think it's a good deal, walk away. It's really up to you.
