Just ordered a Jeep Green Metallic 2dr Sahara for $500 over invoice the other day. My salesman stated they were going to raise the cost to $1000-$1500 over invoice in the next week or two. Maybe just BS but the 4dr Unlimited Wranglers are flying off the lot. Seems like people will pay whatever they want for them. They are lucky to last a day and it sounds like most people are paying MSRP for them. I of course am ordering mine and the wait begins (60-90 days?).

Mine listed for over 31,000. I got a Sahara Unlimited 4x4 Hardtop with every option except dual top and mygig (wasn't available anyway). I got the employee deal from my bro in law and only had to pay 26,900. I consider that a pretty great deal.

Sahara 2dr, ragtop, auto.

at the time,
The Jeep MSRP price was: $24,385
the JeepWarehouse price: $22,661

My Sahara priced out at : $21,399.30 inc. all the tax, title & reg fees.

So basically the dealer wanted the sale & i got $1262 for my trade in if you wanna look at it that way. Which is more than it was worth.

I was happy with the deal. Probably coulda done better, but i was limping my trade-in along and the rubberbands, bands-aids and duct tape were wearing thin. So i couldnt wait to ditch it.

Default $500 under invoice

I ordered my unlimited rubi through costoco.com auto program.

I got it for $500 under invoice. Window to purchase was November 06 to January 11, 2007.

Now the price is now $500 under MSRP. I calculated a $2900 price difference.
This jeep is very popular and hard to get so price went sky high.

I think when I ordered the jeep, the dealer didn't know how much in demand this vehicle would be.

That is why I ordered when I did. I didnt want to wait for them to be put out on the lots and hassle with the dealer. Now I get to wait for it to come in. It will have my name on the sticker...whatever. I just am looking forward to saving up more for a down payment in the meantime. I will sell my 94 Sahara after I get my JK. I got a 2dr Sahara w/ auto, tow package, power group, limited slip, 18" wheels, and duel khaki tops. Total: invoice $25,536 + $500.

After dealing with many dealers (who like to fight my friends and family control nubmer) I found a dealer who is willing to give me what i want for the price I want. This what I will be ordering (once yellow is available):

2007 Wrangler Unlimited X 4wd
Detonator Yellow
24s quick order package (AUTO)
side airbags
tubular side steps
infinity sound
tow package
front/rear floor mats
power convenience group

MSRP (according to my dealer): $27,555
Friends and Family Price (according to my dealer): $25,926
Invoice (according to edmunds.com): $25,359
MY PRICE (1% under edmunds.com invoice): $25,106

Out the door (tax, doc fee, transfer): $26,710.36

I'm pretty happy with that. I dont like how the dealers have an extra $800 tacked onto their invoice but i think a lot of that was dealer fees and bs... so I stuck to what edmunds suggested... and got what I want.

Can't wait to order this thing finally! Come on Detonator Yellow!

When I got to the dealership to sign all the papers, they tried to increase my previous invoice price by $350 due to DC's increase. I told them they should have called me to let me know about the increase rather than lay it on me. I almost took my down payment plus my non-refundable deposit back and walked out the door. After all this, I guess I got my JK Sahara for $150 over invoice because I argued with the stealership. And I thought I was just going in to sign papers. I knew they might try to get more $$$$ out of me. They didnt.

1BADJK....paying cash doesn't mean you get a better price. The dealer gets their money either way, whether it's upfront from you, or in a couple of days from the bank. Truth be told, dealers would prefer you finance so that they can make money on the back end also.
