What do you all think of this HEMI hood design?
Last week I asked for your opinions on some Hemi decal designs I did for the side of my Red Rock Crystal JK https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/show...hics-for-my-JK. The comments and poll were great and got me thinking about a different path.
I would like to get some heat out of the engine bay when I swap the Hemi in next week. I can't see spending $1100 on the hood I like (the TMD hood), but it is still a consideration. I am on the fence about installing the Hyline OffRoad louvers. With this new design, I have tried to merge the louvers with the Hemi Charger hood decal while retaining the Rubicon designation.
What are you thoughts on this hood? (Keep in mind that I couldn't get the HEMI lettering angled correctly and the RUBICON lettering should probably be a bit taller to come over the side of the hood farther. Also the louvers will be black color matched to the black hood.)

Just got a quote from the body shop for the paint work on the hood. I'm getting ready to pull the trigger but would like some comments first!

I think the black takes up a little too much of the hood. Personally I would remove Rubicon and put HEMI there, or Hemicon or something of similar unique taste.
It doesn't look bad by any means, just not perfect.

I would see if you can get the louvers to more match the black of the hood. Make the Hemi logo smaller. Other than that, it looks pretty good.
Good idea on heat removal, on a hot summer day my hood prop can burn my hand. Been two years with no harm to anything, but still.
Where the heck can one actually find a TMD hood in stock, by the way? I have had no luck so far, and I do not want to order a vapor-hood.
Have fun, but keep it under 100.

The louvers wouldnt look all that bad if they were painted at the same time as the rest of the hood and matched. But I'm not a fan of the Hemi wording being so big. You should see how it looks if you shrink it down to a 3rd of the size and move it to the corner by the windshield (still being on the hood and facing the same direction of course).

I don't like it. I think the above comments cover what I would say personally. either all black the entire section including the louvers and integrate Hemi else where in another fashion or think about a different design. Just my $0.02

Thanks guys for all your thoughts and ideas. Yes the louvers would be painted the same color black as the hood.
I am torn between this concept, the AEV hood, and the TMD hood. I want too cool the engine bay which all three do, but the TMD has a cold air functioning cowl down to the air filter. This is a plus, but it's impossible to get. The AEV looks great, but shouldn't the vents be in the back to help release heat?
I guess I'll sit back and wait and think somemore about it .
