I'd take the 4.0 over the 3.8. Not sure why someone would look for the minivan motor in a YJ unless it was half the price...

A few of those YJ's didn't come with the 4.0 though.

The 3.8 is actually an upgrade from the 2.5. The 2.5 still did really well, i think

Default HP

Maybe replace the flathead 4 cylinder in ancient Jeeps. I'm sure it will have more horsepower and almost as much torque.

They just started making wiring harnesses for the jeep YJ and TJ to accept a 3.8 in place of the crappy 4cyl... Sounds pretty cool!!!!

There are a lot of people installing Hemi's in their wranglers. Suprisingly, there are exactly the same number of 3.8 liter engines laying around on shop floors! :-)
I'm sure this has been discussed, but what could a person do with a 3.8 engine?
They're pretty inexpensive.

BBQ Grill, that is it , sell it to the company that makes grills that look like engines... Get 'r done!

You could build an epic DIY gas generator.

I imagine there will be a market for them as JK's get older. You may just want to hang onto it or see if a re manufacturing company such as Jasper would buy it.
