What Changes Do You Want In The Next Wrangler?

5. ...how about a dual door option as well so I can get the half doors as well as full doors, but don't gouge us too much on the price.
6. Is there a way to make the door windows larger? When driving with the full frame doors on and the top off, it feels like I'm too confined.

10. How about a vent in the back of the hardtop for the two-door jeeps This would allow air to flow through the jeep when the hard top is on but the windows are open. The buffeting in the two door JK gets tiring. You don't get this with the four door when you open the back windows since the air can flow through the jeep better. I don't recall the TJ's having such bad buffeting.

I'd really like for Jeep to focus on quality on whatever the next 2-door or 4-door offroad Jeep platform is. I'd also like Jeep to provide better options for the enthusiast groups.
I want to see a diesel option.
I want to see the availability of factory HID or LED forward headlamp lighting.
I'm curious as to why direct injection isn't on the Pentastar 3.6. I'd like to see that as well.
I'd also like to see a little more safety, without it being "forced" on consumers. How about available knee airbags? Is there a reason side curtain airbags couldn't be integrated into the rollbar somehow as an option?
I'd like to see the center console redesigned so there's more "throw" space, i.e places to set cell phones, extra keys, widgets, and I wouldn't mind if the cup holders were bigger, too. I also wouldn't mind a locking storage drawer under the passenger seat (this used to be a quintessential Chrysler option...what happened?!)
And, for FFS, Homelink is available in every car except the Jeep Wrangler these days...how hard would it be for Chrysler to put a 3-button remote at the top of the windshield as an extra-cost option? I usually don't mind velcro-ing my garage remote to a latch on the Freedom top, but then when the top is off, the remote goes in a cupholder (see rant above about console space)

What about some mod friendly design changes.
- A vacuum pump that doesn't need to be relocated.
- Factory auxiliary fuse box with various size fuses (or empty, I can provide fuses). For aux lighting, compressors, winches etc...
- Not mod related, but mirrors that are not attached to the doors.
I'm sure I can think of others but some design changes with future mods in mind would definitely score some points.

lol, true. Don't get me started on the computers. Whose bright idea was it to send pwm voltage to the headlights...?

How about a bare-bones “Stripper” model that allows you to order up (or forgo) any additional items or packages?
If you don’t want a top, carpeting or a back seat, don’t check the box. If you want Rubicon drive line, check the box. If you’re planning to install an aftermarket stereo, don’t check the box
Like to see additional (lower) gear ratios offered, too. And do something to inhibit surface rust formation underneath.

I agree with Sarge. Should be able to order and configure your Jeep exactly like you want it. Not get some damn package shoved down your throat with options and features you don't want or need.

I probably shouldn't be adding to the thread I started, but I thought of few other items. How about a false floor in the back big enough for a take-down shotgun or fishing poles, and that still allows the seat to be mounted on top of the false floor. This would allow some security for larger items when out shooting or fishing and wanting to stop somewhere on the way to or from the range or stream. I know I could have a locked box in the back, but there are times I need the back seat in my 2-door, and the add-a-trunk option blocks access for my black lab.
How about getting rid of the foward part of the console? Cut it off just in front of the cupholders. My WWII jeep, and my old CJ5, CJ7 and YJ all felt more open and it was easier climbing around inside the jeep or jumping in from either side of the jeep when they didn't have the big console. Ever find yourself wanting to look out the right side of the jeep navigating a tough spot, or when sitting in water or mud? It was a lot easier without the full length console. You could even move the shifter for the automatic to the column or on the dash to open up the interior.
For the auto trans jeeps, (I reluctantly bought one this time to keep peace in the family), give me back my first gear notch rather than having to toggle the shift lever to manually shift to 1st. I'm afraid Jeep is on the slippery slope to giving us push-button 4wd.
