Exclamation What Brand Is This Hard Top?

I bought this aftermarket hard top locally and the previous owner did not know what brand it is and neither do I.
The back glass was missing when I purchased it and now figuring out the right glass for it is becoming a headache.

The glass from a 2007 seems to fit except that the hinges are different than OEM. There hinges are mounted on the inside lip of the top as opposed to the OEM mounted on the outside.
I took a few pictures of it in hopes someone here has the same kind of top or at least has seen it and can point me in the right direction so I can get the right glass ordered for it.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Felipe

I have never seen tops with this switches like this, maybe could be an identifier?

Older style 1 piece freedom panel

Hinge for the glass is mounted on the inside as opposed to on the outside of OEM tops

Glass rubber mount isn't flush with the top, it does stick out quite a bit in comparison to the OEM top

That is very strange. I have a knack for finding a lot of these things, but striking out. Curious if someone else can ID this thing. The front piece is very strand there by the windshield. The gasket around the rear windows and the lining on the inside of the top reminds me of DV8 and Smittybilt tops, but they don't have ribs on the top the same way, and that little tail on the rear end above the glass seems like an identifying feature as well, but can't place it. I just can't even tell what is going on with that front piece. Is there a chance that is some aftermarket or fabbed up addition that someone added for CB storage or some other cubbies?

It looks like someone had a roof rack on that (holes had been drilled and are plugged now) which makes me think this was on an overland jeep at some point....making a little more sense that part on the underside of the freedom panel might be something that was modded up, and not part of the hardtop originally.

The previous existing roof rack makes a lot of sense. And you might also be right about a CB radio in the front therefore the switches for it or even for some extra lights. But man, I have been scratching my head to figure out the back glass and how it mounts to the hard top itself as it does not seem to take the OEM hinges at all. But you mentioned DV8 and Smittybilt and I might forward these pics to them and see if they ever made it or anything similar. I appreciate your input. Thank you!

I was really digging around yesterday as I have a lot of downtime at work in the day and I just get curious to see if I can track things down. I did find one manufacture that the hinges seemed to be a little different. I can't recall right this second who that was but I dug deeper and deeper and had eliminated it from my thoughts based on a few other things. I think what you have has to be an early model of someone's work. I didn't see any pictures showing how that freedom panel attaches to the footman loops at the windshield or to the rest of the hard top. That might help too. I do think if you emailed a few folks you'd get a response if it was one of their early models or not.

Gotcha - If anything comes to mind, please let me know. I really appreciate it.

The freedom panel doesn't have that latch in the front like most tops do nowadays. It is held by 4 mounting knobs on its side instead. I will take some pictures of that as well which I am hopeful can help

While researching this afternoon, I found a picture on Carid.com that seems to match the hard top so I called them to ask what brand it is and although the guy tried to help, he came back after a few minutes and said it was just a stock photo they used on their website and have no idea who makes it. Here's the photo for reference:

The way the back glass hinge is mounted seems to be the right one

I think that might have helped. Doing a reverse google search for that image starts to bring things up that point to it being a very early model from Bestop. Part 41610-01 I think, and dating back to 2007. Again, just best guess here on some quick internet sleuthing with that picture.....but you do end up finding that same pic with the license plate not blanked out, and it's a Bestop plate that CarID didn't show. Reach out to Bestop and see if they can confirm.

I'm feeling somewhat decent about that being what it is the more I look. The really bad news is that if I'm right, I think you might be SOL in trying to replace that glass outside of some custom job that would cost more than what you have in the top most likely.

Wow - You were right, it is in fact made by Bestop and that was the right part number too.
Only problem is they discontinued production of hard tops over a decade ago and no longer offer any replacement parts. But at least it now gives me a starting point to search for the hinges and glass.

Thank you so much for your help, I appreciate it!

Felipe

Happy to help. Sorry it's not looking like a better outcome at the moment. Does the glass fit and it's only the hinge issue, or is the glass slightly different shape as well?

This is so random. From a different thread, look at the the jeep someone was asking about, and just purchased. Look closely -

https://www.monstermotors.com/used/J...4c4603a0f.htm#

They bought that jeep, but they made the dealer swap tops from a different jeep as to not purchase that top.
