I have the Wild Boar roof rack. It's operational capacity (vehicle moving) is 300lbs, and it's stationary capacity is 1000lbs. It confirms this on their website.

Warrior Products holds a bunch, I think they list it at 500, but I know it can do more than that.

Our patented interior brackets transfer all the load to the tub of the Jeep and does not put any stress on the body. The hard top is merely there as a medium between laser cut brackets and does not provide any of the strength with our roof racks.

I am sure you would be very happy with the MBRP roof rack from a durability and strength stand point.

Steve, but do they work with the new 2011 hardtop? It does not look like it

The reason I am looking is for a roof-top tent. When you put my 350 lbs, and the wives weight and the tent weight, along with a 75 lb german shepard, it equates to alot of weight around 800 lbs or so.

Thanks

Those are weights while in motion. Most have static loads up to 1,000#'s.

Gobi states a 600# static. I would recommend MBRP but they don't work with softtops so yeah :-p (hint hint about making a soft top version!!!)

How do you like the rear mount for that rack? I'm kind of leary of racks where I have to drill into the body.

I really like the roof rack. The mounting doen't bother me at all... It is sturdy and does it's job, besides, I got the rack for $80 from the dealership. They also installed it for me.

We have yet to bring in a 2011 for prototyping but I can say that the window on the 2011 hard tops are completely different. This means we're going to have to re design our racks for the new JK's.
