Water in engine compartment

Just out of curiosity how deep was the puddle?

Was about probably two feet or so but in 4L at a good rate of speed and around 3 or 4K rpm's...I believe it was the splash, it was over the roof, fenders, hood, inside the hood...

I did that once, before I really understood the threat of hydrolock. Hit a puddle going really fast, water flew up over the hood, over the windsheild, and halfway down the roof.

I have an open air intake too, guess I got lucky. Good luck with the insurance.
