Default Water in Back of Jeep

Has anyone come up with a good diy idea to keep water out of the storage compartment in the back of the jeep by the back window? I put down at rubber mat but it seems like water still gets back down in there when I have the roof up but the sides and back are off.

Thanks

Mike

Depends on what terrain you are in...if you are somewhere prone to dust, pulling the plugs is not the answer, you will be choking in dust.

That said, I have all my plugs in except for those in the rear storage area. The big compartment is protected by the heat guard from the muffler, so you don't have to worry about much dust or water on the road coming UP into the Jeep.

Someone told me that the drain plugs from old vw bugs were uni-directional aka self draining? Havn't looked into it tho, maybe someone else knows?

Hardtop guys with water ending up in the storage compartment: I live on a gravel road, the dust is terrible. My JK started getting water in the back compartment, it took a while to realize the rear hatch window gasket had dust on it. When I cleaned the window and gasket, no more water in the rear compartment.....worked for me!
