Warn 8274
First off, sorry if this is in the wrong section.
I'm looking for a winch and found a Warn 8274 on [link below] going for $750. I emailed the guy...(or company?) he said it comes complete, remote, cable, winch plate with roller fairchild- just needs power and ground cable and my rig. A newer motor and box on it. I've read good things about this model. I just wanted to get some opinons from some seasoned jeepers.

Looks like the plug goes in front so I'm guessing 70's - 80's?

I've had 2 of them in my past. One on my CJ and then another on the JK. They are great winches, but man are they HEAVY (110# w/o the cable I think). The line speed is about as fast as they come. The contacts in the motors do like to rust. I found that if I ran it out and re-spooled it once a week it would keep the rust away.
I bought both of mine in non-working condition for around $150. They are easy to rebuild and you can have the motor re-wound for around $120. I think my total cost was around $500 on both.
The price tag does seem a little steep, but if the cable's good and it's in good working condition it's not that much of a stretch.

Thanks for the replies so far.
110# + bumper = 180#! maybe I'll search out an entry level until I really get into it since I just started running the BB.
@fnnd1 - I've been scoping it out for a few weeks - good call!
