I have been running this snorkel for 7 months now through very tight bush/trees and it has done well.... the snork is made of cross-link polyethylene and it has a "memory" so to speak eg... if you take a torch and soften the polyethylene and re-shape it and let it cool.. the next hot sunny day it will pop back into it's original shape.. so that is the advantage of new tech vrs. metal..

sorry dude its not just "plastic"

plus I bought the ARB intake and fit it on so I have the pre-filter and the ram.. works great..

I would have to agree...it's not just "plastic." When I first got it, I was weary of tree limbs smacking it, even drive-thru car washes (with the big heavy scrub things that weigh like 120 lbs.) Let me tell you what, my has been thru hell already, one time a limb SMACKED it so good that I stopped my JEEP and said, "alright it's definitly cracked, or at least the ram air is ripped off." To my surprise...nothing...not even a visible scratch and it even had stripped the bark off the branch around the air ram. Plus, as far as styling, some like RR some AEV. IMO (especially for HALF the price or an RR) the AEV with the air ram just plain looks better.

I do not know what to think. It might get you better gas mileage by the looks of it.

IMHO. That looks great!! Much better than the square metal tube look of the RR.
