V8 swap
ok guys I got a 2008 automatic jk. I was looking to get a super charger but was told that it wouldn't really matter if im in a area where the temp exceeds 80 degrees. so im looking in doing a v8 swap, also because it cheaper too. but I couldn't find anything about people doing a v8 swap on a automatic, and what engine to use. is it possible to do it, what would I need and how much would it set me back.

Edit: Here is the AEV install kit. Of course you still need a motor.

Edit 2: RIPP SC with intercooler.

Supercharger all the way. V8 swap done right is $$$$$$ compared to the supercharger. The whole 80 degree thing is BS. Most vehicles pull air from the engine compartment which is 200+ degree air to begin with.

I think it may run $15,000-$20,000 depending on 5.3 liter, 6.0 liter, tap shift, etc.

First off, what gears and size tires are you running? One of the most overlooked mods is a gear swap as it'll make a world of difference. There's a shop in nj doing ls 5.3/6l80 swaps starting under 15k and around 11.5-12k if you supply your own drivetrain. Don't really know where your located but if you have the coin and don't plan on selling it I'd do the v8 swap. I love the 3.8 but you'd be polishing a turd.
