Using oil, but can't find where
I've got a friend with a 2008 Jeep Rubicon. His jeep started using a quart of oil every 2500 miles when he hit 35,000 miles. Is this normal?

From what I've read, that sounds about right.
In 2200 miles, my JK burned just about 4qt's. I also cannot find out where it's going, and my warranty ran out long ago.
I'd say until it gets worse, I wouldn't worry about it. Unless he has an extended warranty, then take it to the dealer and have them run an oil consumption test.

I'd be happy with that! Seems like I'm burning a quart every 1000 miles. Just switched to 10w 30 Mobil one. Hoping that will help. There's a lot of threads on this. Search for "Oil sucking 3.8" to find them.

X2, also was drinking a qt every 1000 miles since first oil change. Just switched to 10w30 at 49000 miles and now 2000 miles later it's all still there. Hope it works for you guys too.

Periodically check his oil level and make sure it doesnt run dry. The unfortunate ones had their main bearing spun @ 55k + miles
Replacing the PCV have helped slow down the oil burning issue.
Change the oil weight from 20 to 30 or 40 weight...

I have an 07 JKU, I use oil more than anything I've ever owned. I have to add a quart almost monthly. No leaks, no smoke, no nothing. I've done my share of research and found its just the nature of the beast. I have heard that switching weights does help, I've just not tried it yet.
