Default Upgrading tires on stock rims

I am considering upgrading my tires but using my stock wheels. Was not really considering a lift but I know that I would need at minimum spacers. My local 4x4 shop suggested one and a half inch spacers. I have an unlimited Sahara and was looking at 285 by 70s on and 18 inch rim. Any thoughts or suggestions?

You could probably get by with just the bigger tires. A 33 will fit with only the possibility of minor rubbing, probably on the front air dam which you could trim or remove. A spacer would stop that but it also pushes the wheels out to the point where flex might cause issue with your fenders.

Lots get by with just the 33s, but the rest is up to you.

Trim your fenders and get the 1.5 spacers. You can run 35x12.50

Thanks for the feedback. I might consider 35. I also was wanting to use the spacers to give it a little more rugged look and push the tires out to the edge of the wheel fenders. Any suggestions on tires? I am wanting an all terrain, not a mud tire. Would like some with low road noise and a good ride.

Toyo at2 is one of the quietest AT's out there. there is also the KO2 and the duratrac. duratracs have weaker sidewalls and wear quickly (so ive heard). both the ko2 and at2 ride well. if you off road, the ko2 has a better sidewall, but id perfer the at2
