Types of Bumpers
#12
I, too, am into overlanding. However, I opted for a mid-width bumper on the front because I still do rock crawl and approach angle is a consideration. The one I chose (Shrockworks) has a grill hoop option, but I just didn't care for the look of it. So, I chose just the winch hoop. IMHO, this is the best looking bumper for a JK. For the rear, I opted for a full-width, my thinking being that I need the corner protection when backing (more likely I'll back into an obstacle).
BTW: My own derisive term for those bumpers that are so common on pick-ups (and some overlanding vehicles) is "cow catcher". I don't know why anyone thinks they need a cow catcher on their pick-up (unless, of course, they have cows!).
