Tread Lightly
Just looking for some clarification on the Tread Lightly discount. If you get the membership and use the discount, does that basically mean no haggling? That's what I'm assuming, but you know what happens when you assume.
Thanks in advance.

If you are trading something you need to realize that they will be showing you a wholesale or ACV (actual cash value) price on your trade. As always you are better off in most cases selling you trade yourself if you are willing to deal with the hassle for the price difference.
On my recent purchase I sold one of my vehicles and traded my 99 Wrangler SE since even after FFP pricing they still gave me what I paid for my 99 Wrangler 5 years ago. I could of sold my wrangler myself and may have gotten $500 to $1000 more (maybe) but would have had to deal with all the hassles. That amount of money wasn't worth it to me.

Well... Yes and no. If the dealer 'participates' then you get the FFP price as listed on the invoice. If you are buying outright and not trading anything then yep... No haggle unless you are in a market where you can get a dealer to go lower. If you want to go lower than 1% under invoice, start there and work your way up until time to reveal the eligibility for FFP pricing. This price is clearly listed on the invoice just above the EMP price and under the HB(hold back amount).

I hate the whole car buying fiasco. My best friends wife is great when it comes to new car purchases. She's offered to pretend to be my significant other and do the dirty work. I'm starting to think I might take her up on it.

I used the Tread Lightly discount when I purchased mine. It made it extremely easy. No argument on price or discounts. But if you have them add anything after the fact, you will not get the lower price on those items.
Even if you don't need it, tread lightly is a great organization to support. All jeepers should carry a copy of their guidebook for responsible 4 wheeling in their glovebox.

Nice... I definitely be joining and hope that the incentive is still being honored when it comes time to buy. I had no intention of ever paying anything close to MSRP and would walk out on any dealership that wouldn't budge on price. I'll probably end up ordering from the factory then getting something off the lot.
Where is an accurate place to find invoice pricing on options?
