Default Trail riding tire pressure question

Ive been looking up some stuff on airing down my tires for when i go off-road for hopefully better traction and get over rocks easier. But i dont want to just jump into it and deflate them too much and possibly mess up the tire or have it come off the wheel. So I was wondering if anybody had a "magic formula". What do you guys and gals have your rigs running on?

33X12.50R16 Mickey Thompson BAJA MTZ is what I have incase you guys wanna do the math for me.

I go down to 15 psi. I don't have bead locks either. I've gone low as 10 psi before too.

X2 to that, it's amazing how many people are afraid to go that low.

Sorry in advance if this is too dumb, but would airing down Rubicon tires -to say 25psi-help with snow traction? The harder rubber compound for good wear works against them in snow, any thoughts?( Normally run them at 37psi)

If you are not running on the highway then 20-25 would be fine running in snow around town or back roads. If you were doing trails in the snow then go ahead and get it on down to 10-15 psi whichever you are comfortable with, better traction with less air.

The more rubber there is, the less air there needs to be. Or stated differently, the larger the tire, the lower the air pressure you can run. For stock 32" tires I go down to 14 psi. For 33" tires I'll go down to 12 psi. For 35" tires I'll go down to 10 psi. And for 37" tires I'll go down to 8 psi.

Yup, I have 37's and run 7-8 psi. It is magical.
