Default trail rated my a%#

Ok here is the out come of my tranny woes. Warranty i think not. A little over 1500 when all is said and done.

Narrative. took the jeep out to pop its cherry. 2007 unlimited with fulltraction premuim, 35" procomp xtreme all terrians and 16x10 1089's. did a little trail riding and it was all going great. i hit a few ruts but never got too deep. i mean i never went above the rim with mud or water. finially my clutch just dies. its as if its stuck. you press the peddle and nothing happens. now i have to get towed by a ford approx 5 miles out of the trail to the side of the road so i can call road side assistance.

conclusion. those damn slots on the bottom of the tranny sucked up soo much silt and water that it made this cakey substance that worked its way into the clutch master cylinder and blew it up. then it made its way behind the pressure plate and locked the plate in the open position. this nast mixture even made its way into the rear main seal.

lesson learned, never take a new jeep with 1100 miles on it offroad. or better yet why the hell are there holes on the bottom of the tranny anyway?

there were two other guys on this forum who are having tranny problems due to offroading. it will start with a little slipping tehn you won't be able to shift into certain gears.

only word of advice i can give you is spray as much water as you can up there to clean out whatever mud is in there. unfortunitly the only way to see how bad it is you have to drop the tranny. and from seeing it in the shop it dosen't look easy.
