Looking at trading in my 08 unlimited Rubicon for a new 12. Just wondering if the old hard top would work on the new Jeep. Also i have a new TF lift for my old Jeep, will that work as well?

Well if they don't, I'm sure that you could always sell them.

They both will work. May have to modify the footmam loop for the ht. The 08 is in the center, the 12 is slightly driver from center.

Can the same be said about the soft top. I have both and would like to keep one. So which ever the new Jeep doesn't have i would like to use the other.

Get the new soft top, keep the old hard top. The 08 soft top uses the fold under rails above the doors, the new tops dont, much easier

Keep the old HT and make sure your new Jeep comes with a new one as well. Sell your old one for $1200. Your new HT costs $750 from the dealer.

The new ST is also greatly improved over the 07-09 Soft Tops. Can also sell your old ST for $350-500 and buy a beater one off CL. There's one in my area with frame for $50 for JKU.

Are you guys sure about this? The 08 had a smaller rear window in the hard top and it was widened in the 11. I would think that would make the rear of the hard top line up differently and latch differently.

I'd have a seriously hard time giving up that lifetime powertrain warranty. Good luck with the new Jeep!

They line up the exact same. If you look closely, the window comes back in at the bottom. I know one difference between them is the newer tops use the footman loop to secure in front. I can't remember, but i think the newer ones have an alignment pin that you need to remove in the rear that sticks into the tub as well (easy, just pull out).

Compare these 2 pics I just grabbed off Google:
