Tpms bs wtf
Rotated my tires last week and made sure all of the tires were at 35psi, including the spare. Since I did this, my TPMS light has been coming on. There have been a few times when it has turned off when it was warm outside, but then it comes back on later. Anyone had this happen? I dont relish the thought of going to the dealer. Could a lost sensor cause this?

I had my tires at 35 psi from april 08 to Jan 09 an I had the same problem one or two times per month.
Since January, I put my tires at 30 psi, therefore I hear the candy-ass "ding ding ding ding" each time I start my engine
I had my cpu reflashed last november to disable the tpms, but it's back now

Thanks. I will go double check the tire pressure, but I have been running them at 35 for a year and this did not happen until the last rotation. I think that the TPMS is set to go off at 30 psi. Is it possible that it would throw the code if a sensor was missing?

If there is a sensor missing or damaged (stopped reporting) then yes it will throw an error code and trigger your sensor alarm (ding ding ding!). Basicaly the computer cant tell the difference between a one missing/not reporting and a low pressure situation, if the sensor doesnt report a pressure above the threshold your light.alrm will go off, reguardless of why it is not reporting.

I have had my 08 to the dealer for this problem. I had to add more air. They were fine at 35 until the temps started to drop at night and then about every five days the ding would go off. Add a couple of pounds and you should be fine.

The dealer can reflash your computer so the TPMS won't go off until you are down to like 28psi. Most dealers will do it for free if they have excellent customer service and deal with new JK's on their lot that are lifted already. Check it out.
