Could be my drug induced state, but that sounded more like an invitation than a challenge.

Default ESP questions

Folks through out have suggested that unless you shut off ESP, the JK handles terribly in sand.

Does this also transfer to mud, snow and rocks?? That is, shut it off at play?

Is ESP just a nice safety feature for pavement?

i tried the ESP on and off in the snow (on road driving to/from work & stores. If you want to keep traction and be safe, leave it on, it works suprisingly well.
-Tried it in some fields with deep powder. seemed better in that exact circumstance that it was better with it on.
-mud around here, i leave it on.
-never see sand unless i run over a plastic turtle.
-not many rocks either

ya wanna screw around and blow donuts and such, turn it off. but be careful, it'll spinout quickly and i dont condone it.

Default Plastic turtle

I'm guessing that ESP might not matter much when running through those backyards when that wildlife jumps out in front of you!

ESP automatically goes off in 4 Low, so with rocks and most mud or snow, you will not have it anyway. The TCS still functions--the Traction Control System which uses your ABS to apply pressure to spinning wheels in order for your driveline to function like a limited-slip.

In 2H or 4H you can press the button to turn it off (or "partially off"--whatever the heck that means! Is that like being partially pregnant? )

ESP is meant for highway applications, since Jeeps are infamous for not handling maneuvers well at those speeds.

Partly off I think means any speed under 40mph, but I don't have the book here to be sure.
