I tow with my JKU at or above the max rating. I keep mine stock so I don't affect the tow capacity in a negative way.

True. A Jeep is one of the easiest vehicles to modify.
But what I don't understand is why anyone would care what others do to their own Jeeps.
"Too many stock JK's"? It never occurred to me to even notice that.

Default Still deciding...

Saying I've only made two payments so far, it may be early to start investing in other options. Yeah I like the idea of a couple extra inches and nice wheels and tires, but that's why I got the "S" package for the bigger 17 inch wheels. Also I like my 20 mpg running stock that I wouldn't have with a new lift & tires. I would like to a few extras, just haven't decided Which ones yet.......

When my '12 JKUR comes in, I'm not going to lift it like I have every other 4wd: Ford Excursion, Toyota Tacoma, '95 YJ, '92 YJ, '09 JK. None of my lifted vehicles has ever driven as good as stock. At the time, I could live with that because I was more interested in looking good. However, now that I'm getting my first Rubi, it will come better equiped and engineered for the trails as a non-lifted vehicle, than I am willing to invest.

The only mods I am putting on the '12 JK are: rock-rail steps, wheels (Fuel "Krank"), limo tint (w/brow tint), fuel door, shorty bumper, winch, 7-pin wiring harness, prodigy brake controller (travel trailer) and eventually '33's.

Maybe this thread should say "What started you moddin' ya Jeep?" - for me I have wanted a Jeep for some time (liked the rugged looks I think), with less than 200 miles on the odo I took it up to Uwharrie National Park and run some 'easy' trails.
I was hooked, but wadda' bout the wife; so about a month or so after joining a local 4x4 club, the two of us returned to Uwharrie to wheel, at the gas station airing up after wheelin' most of the day the wife said "Ya know if we had a lift and bigger tires we could keep up to all those guys!" and my friends that's what started my mod's - I mod to enable my Jeep to traverse trails, etc. are looks important, sure, but mainly to be capable is #1 with me.

At 30k + I just can't afford to do too much to it yet. Besides, every time I hit the trails I "mod" it by removing the top, side steps, and doors! I am still VERY impressed with my rigs capabilities bone stock!
