Default Tire Balancing

If I air down during wheeling will tires be more susceptible to slipping on wheel and in need of rebalancing?

I have only aired down once, to about 20 psi, and I don't think that is enough to break the tire free from the wheel

Thanks JMC. I was thinking more in the 12-18 pound range as that seems to be what many run for the rocks.

It will depend on the terrain (traction, load, power) and how far you air down. You shouldn't have a problem at 12#'s in 90% of the situations, but it is certainly possible.
Preventing slippage (rotation) of the bead on the wheel is one of the primary reasons people run beadlocks.

Put a paint dot on the tire, aligned with the valve stem. That way you will know if it slips, and can take action from there.

This is a good idea. I have 35's also, and the last time we wheeled I aired down to 15. Made a huge difference and never slipped at all.

Thanks all. I will try the paint dot and go from there.
