Default Tire Age/ Do I need new Tires?

I'm still running my original tires on my JK. They're about 6-7 years old, but the treads look pretty good (and they're deep enough).

Do you think it's unsafe to drive on tires that are 6-7 years old? Some of them have plugs in them...

Should I get new tires, or wait until the treads wear down?

They might be dry rotted, I generally replace tires after 6 years even if tread is ok

If they aren't cracked and dry rotted, keep them rotated and balanced, and they will be fine.

Sounds like a safety gamble and a great excuse to get some 35's!

My Miata has 13 year old tires, although I wouldn't drive too far on them. Visible conditions should tell the story moreso than a date. The plugs might cause me anxiety though.
