With Friends and Family and the new Military discount, this includes prior military as well you will be at $1250 under invoice. With the warranty that the 08s come with it is hard to go wrong in buying new.

I love my TJ, it is really more fun than should be allowed, butttttttt the JK is miles ahead in ride comfort and capabilty. If you spend that much time going such a short distance, you will be more than happy doing it in a JK.

I skipped the tj era. My old jeep was a cj. I find it amusing from that perspective to have the TJ reffered to as raw or spartan. You may verywell miss the TJ. But that's an illogical emotional bond ( I still hold that cj in higher esteem thatn was warranted, for sure). If you get the babies a rolling, you will appreciate the extra doors if nothing else. It does in fact ride better than the TJ. Basing this on my passenger perspective from friends lj. And we marveled at how much better his ride was, compared to the yj he had before. They keep getting better in terms of comfort. The cost is simplicity. But really things haven't been mechanically simple since the CJ days. Lots more wires bells & whistles showed up back then and it will only get worse. Then end product does do great offroad, better onroad without question & will fit your growing family far better than the TJ.

Well I am going to look at that used black one I mentioned. Will either look at it tomorrow or Saturday. We'll see what happens.

I traded my 05 Unlimited Rubicon in with less than 10,000 miles in FLAWLESS condition and got 16,800 for it. Supposedly they gave me more because this is the 3rd New Jeep I bought in under 3 years. I talked to my brother in law who is a GM at a nissan dealership and he said according to the book they use he wouldn't have been able to give me that much unless he made it up in the price of the new vehicle. I paid just over 30,000 for the new 08. Plus, if it's worth anything, I have the lifetime driveline warranty.

If I were you I would look into a new vehicle. Sales have slowed down and you can probably get a good deal.

seperation anxiety!! It's not my daily driver now, but the JK will be.

Shop AL LOT!

Don't buy a used $29,000.00 when you can get one NEW for $32,000.00+/-

If you have the space and the CJ is paid for why get rid of it?

Have the insurance reduced on it and only use it for wheelin.

Well guys I went and drove a 4 door rubi today at a dealer and I was honestly disappointed. My personal opinion is that it is way under powered. Maybe I am just used to my 4.0L and 6 speed. Everything else about it was very nice. I will be hanging on to my TJ for now.

Thanks for all the input and advice.

Thats what I though when I first test drove the JK, actually it has more power that the TJ just has a different power band and you'll get used to it. My JK feels just as peppy now that i know the power bands as a 4.0l TJ. But it sounds like you really want to keep your TJ. I know its tough, we all have such great expirences in our wranglers regardless of what year or designation it it that its SO SO hard to get rid of them even if its for a newer model. I feel and went through what you are, but I can say this I'm extremely happy with my new JK.

x2....the power range is just in a different place. When I drive my sons TJ I snap my neck at every light. It just jumps off the line. I actually prefer the power band of the JK. But hey, that's just me!
