Default Thinking about trading 2011 for 2012

I stopped by the dealer this weekend and found a new 2012 JKU Rubicon that is almost identical (option wise) to my 2011 JKU Rubicon. Here is the best deal I could get from them.

MSRP - 40,160.

Got them down to 36,000. That includes destination fee etc. Only additional fee would be the $200 dealer processing fee.

Trade - 28,500. KBB on my Jeep is 31,369 (for Very Good condition). I have 19,800 miles on my 2011.

My 2011 is pretty much fully loaded, it is a manual 6 speed. I knew better than to get the auto when I bought it.

The 2012 is an automatic. That is pretty much the only difference. Well, and the new 3.6.

The 2012 drove fine. I didn't think it was amazing or jaw dropping. I really never had any issues with my 2011. Again, my 2011 is a manual.

What do you think? Do you think they can do better on the trade? I think the price on the 2012 is pretty good. I looked up the invoice and it is $37,563.

The deal sounds good to me ,but its your money. If your not feeling the 3.6 then stick what with you have.

Sounds like a good deal to me.. But I guess it would depend on how much you will lose on mods and finance charges. Are they still offering 0 interest on the 2012s?

I live in NC but purchased my Jeep from Ourisman in Clarksville MD and got a great deal.

My sticker was identical to yours and I got my 2012 Rubi Auto with a bunch of options for $36K out the door (included dealer fee, NC tax, title and registration).

I did not have a trade in for this vehicle.

Seems like a good deal. I just traded my 2dr '11 in for a 4dr '12. You are getting a slightly better deal than I got for what it's worth.

That is where I just bought mine. How did it go for you. My deal took forever and they gave me some serious run around with their online price. I would not recommend going back.

Yep Ourisman in Clarksville is where I was looking.

If they would do $2000 more on trade I might do it.

I don't really care for that dealership though. Definitely try to give you the runaround.

I would take the 2011 back to stock before trading.

I have had great experience with Adams Jeep in Aberdeen. Check out their web site and give Keith Cook a call if you really want a 2012

Are you looking at the green one with leather? I just bought the Silver rubi. I would go to cars.com and offer through the website (good prices and no disclaimer about incentives). They have cheap prices on the Ourisman website but then when you show up or offer based on that number they will make up some BS about not qualifying for a rebate and delivery $900 not being included. It was fairly aggravating after driving 3 hours to do the deal. Only reason i stuck around was because they had the exact one i want in stock.
