i have admited to the tranny blowing being both my fault and a design flaw i mean who puts vents on the bottom of a tranny that can easily fill with water and mud even on the shallow crossings

the engine problems are beyond me. i wheeled hard once when i first had the lift on but ever since then i have been worried that the damn thing is going to fall apart.

if they can assure me that its going to stay together then i will keep it.

as for wheeling hard i purchased all the skid plates but havent put them on cause the damn engine leaks like a siv

If I were you, I think I would want out too. You may never have any other problem with it, but are you willing to take the chance? One the other hand, you could just keep it until the warranty goes out.

FYI....some dealerships are very good at "asking you questions" that illicit the response that they want in order to validate that you messed up your own ride. When in fact, your ride was most likely built on a monday morning, or a friday afternoon, and is garbage.
Being vague is something to think about moving forward.
Sounds like you might want to visit a new dealership, and swap your JK in for a new one. I had a 99TJ that drove me insane (lemon). In fact, I traded it in for a Chevy ( ), but I came back from the dark side and never gave the previous dealer any more of my money.
Good luck....that sucks!

first it was cause of the tranny. i learned you cant shift a jeep while you are in the mud or you'll blow it up.

then came the "manufacture defect" a main bearing had failed and they had to replace the short block. oh this all happened before 1200 miles. \

ever since then i have been plagued with an oil leak that no one can seem to chase down. finially started looking around myself and found the plate above the oil pan was leaking. now waiting for that part to come in so it can go back in the shop

i am actually afraid to take my jeep on the trail anymore. last time i did the oil light came on while i was driving back home.

don't know how much longer i am going to hold on to this thing before i cut my losses. love the idea of a jeep but im hating not being able to trust it.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO????

damn jerzey that sucks...I dunno what I would do except get the oil leak fixed and see if anything happens after that maybe...I think you should call a Chrysler rep and talk to them also...tell them how pissed you are that since there mechanics changed the engine it leaked and they never found the leak that you had to....seems like a lot of their mechanics suck or just dont give a crap about finding problems for us

It really sucks that the 6spd cant be shifted in mud/water....what exactly are "jeeps" trail rated for dirt trails and rocks only? they know people like to drive them through mud you would think the engineers would be able to make it able to shift in mud, if not let buyers know this before you buy a stick...

Is there an authority to confirm that you "can't shift in the mud"?????
Am I uninformed??? I've never heard that....and have driven in all kinds of mud and snow and muck shifting all day long without any issues!
HMMMMM??

never buy the first model year of anything, that is rule number 1. And look into persuing the lemon law for sure

I'm pretty sure most lemon laws require that you go in for repeated repairs for a single problem within a certain time frame.

It seems like these are all different issues resolved at appropriate times. Depending on how many times he went in for the oil leak, and across what time span, he may or may not have a case.

Then again, I'm not a lemon law expert

get rid of it. I would pursue lemon law. If you cant trust it why keep it? I wouldnt want to go anywhere in it if i couldnt trust it.
