Default Think i want out of my jeep

Well i have been on this forum for a long time now and have had my jeep for about a year. It seems as if i am cursed or my jeep is. I have only been able to put 6k on it since new and its my daily driver. the jeep has been in and out of the shop so many times i lost count.

first it was cause of the tranny. i learned you cant shift a jeep while you are in the mud or you'll blow it up.

then came the "manufacture defect" a main bearing had failed and they had to replace the short block. oh this all happened before 1200 miles. \

ever since then i have been plagued with an oil leak that no one can seem to chase down. finially started looking around myself and found the plate above the oil pan was leaking. now waiting for that part to come in so it can go back in the shop

i am actually afraid to take my jeep on the trail anymore. last time i did the oil light came on while i was driving back home.

don't know how much longer i am going to hold on to this thing before i cut my losses. love the idea of a jeep but im hating not being able to trust it.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO????

If I were you, I would trade it and cut the losses as you say.

But since I agree with Wraith in that it really sounds like you got a lemon. I would not scratch Wranglers off your future list. I have never heard of anyone having as many problems as you have had. Most people either have no problems at all like me, or one or two minor problems.

Sorry to hear you've had all those problems, that really sucks!

well thats a little harsh i never had problems with my old truck like this. trust me i love my jeep wish i could keep it and buy another vechile but uncle sam dosent pay enough.

we will see maybe if i get some hair on my chest i might just send it to brunsville.

it would be more reasuring if people have had the same problems with there jeeps and now everything is hunky dory

6,000 miles ina year?
That's crazyyy
I put 6,000 in the first 2 months.

I just made my 5th payment a week ago, and mymilage is 13,700.
I don't want to jynx it, but my jeep seems to be pretty happy with the way I drive it.

If warranty covers the costs, then y bother looking for a new vehicle. I know it's a pain seeing them every now and then but atleast you have newer parts.

I hate reading that things like that happens to people. All of that in 6000 miles is completely unacceptable. I read someone used the "Lemon Law" maybe you could try that.

I'm not sure what I would do. I'm not sure if the Tranny issue is Jeep's error, or "driver error". Is this a problem with all vehicles, or only the JK's design???

Do you do heavy offroading? Is the oil pan dented in any way causing the leak?

If it is, it seems like other than the engine (which was replaced) your jeeps only faults are from off roading incidents, which can be remedied with aftermarket parts for more protection (well, maybe not the tranny-mud issue)...

It's hard to tell without more details, but so far, it seems like a keeper. If you're not happy with it though, you better trade her in soon... Every day passed is another few bucks off the value!

If you're having that many problems maybe it is a lemon, you should look into the lemon law stuff, who knows you might be able to swap it for a brand new one
