All of my offroad group members are jeep freaks. I have 07, and was discussing buying a jk 12

Their idea is: slam your jk with ripp long tubes and supercharger and u would be a happy camper! You will get even better performance than jk 12!!

I am not going to lie, I like the idea! It is much cheaper than getting new jk but I am haunted by the new interior, tranny, and the idea of what new performance mods will come out for the 3.6.

We drive mainly in the desert with huge dunes where power and torque at high rpm is all it matters.

What do u guys think?

Supercharge it, or wait couple of months until off season (summer) and grab a used 12?

12 jk is way fast its like a rocket i don't think ripp would even comes close.

If your budget allows it why not get the best of both worlds. A new interior & tranny + the increase in power that is more suitable to your desert/dune driving. There will be future performance mods comming out for the 3.6 that you can further enhance the 3.6 engine...Imagine what a supercharged 3.6 would be like...

Jeep will never be like sports car and never have an interior of Merc.... So leave it.... Better spend on all new model.

Id get a 12. The new motor and tranny are a big upgrade, even a supercharged 3.8 wont have the refinement or fuel economy (not sure how much consumption matters in Dubai, but more range is nice regardless of fuel price). The new interior is very well done as well, even if you care little for luxury having a proper place for your elbows and not banging knees on rock hard plastc is nice.

Wow never knew people cared that much for interior in a jeep. Personally I would be more happy with a cheap, simple yj style interior. Spend money on more important features. The new interior IOH

Thank you so much for your input. Fuel is not cheap here as many would imagine. its cheaper than the states I think. 35usd to fill up my jk.

your response makes a lot of sense.




I think as a daily driver, the new interior makes a difference. if the Jeep was only for the desert and Abba second, I wouldn't care at all
