Default Tape Patch under Pass Side Cowl

What is up with the painted over tape patch under the passenger side cowl behind the battery. Looks like it is covering a 4in by 4in hole that is open on the driver’s side. Maybe it is the overflow tank for the passenger side mirror water reservoir. :toung:

No one else have this mystery tape job? Also what's up with the braided cable connector from the hood to the firewall that hangs down near the battery post when the hood is closed?

the braided cable is probably a static strap. Show some pics to better help explain the issues.

the painted over tape patch is like a nicfit patch for cessation of smoking.

except in this case it is to help it get over a lack of paint.

...now you know.

Could also be the branch wires for the underhood lamp if you don't have one there.
My rubi built in Nov 06 had the wire and a notch in the hood insulating blanket but not the lamp itself. They've since stopped including even the wiring and I think the blanket as well.
Earliest builds seem to have gotten everything.

Thanks folks sounds like I have or don't have what I am suppose to based on my build, late May. No under hood light or wiring, nice painted over patch for some reason and a little black patch where the underhood wiring clip use to be.
