1. Rubicon Transfer case.
2. High speed driving (typically 80+MPH)
3. Noisey bearing in transfer case. (not always)
4. Vibrations, sometimes just before it blows.
Keep a fire extinguisher with you to put out resultant fire.
Wheel/hub locks/unlocks will take care of problem. Not as easy to do on the 07+'s as it was on the oldies.

With all the other bullshit problems we have had with our jeeps due to lack of paying attention on the assembly line, it would not surprise me if certain jeeps did not have their transfer case fluids topped off.

That is a definite possibility. But, I don't think any un-modded JKs have had their t-case explode.

it seems to me that the driveshafts are deffinitely part of the problem. Unless you get those things in a perfect position they vibrate and kaboom. Why does someone not make a driveshaft with the same joints as the stocker, with true CV on one end and u joint on the other that can be rebuildable and maintained easily.

The kits about $1,500. It can be installed in about an hour an half, it just takes a couple wrenchs. My wifes taken ours off and installed the hubs before.

A lot of these failure pics.....im not seeing a lot of fluids about. Did it all dump on the road? Id guess that if you were going at a relatively high rate you'd at least get some on the underbelly......
Anyone think they had low t-case fuild levels prior to this happening?

The fluid blows out the back in a big white cloud as it hit the exhaust.
