Deterrents
A dog is a good one but in an apartment complex probably not practical, the next best option would be a survailance system with recording capability, improved lighting and a neighborhood watch program your local P.D. can help you organize. Good Luck

If that doesn't work, put up a sign that says "Don't Rob Me, Please."
sorry for your break in, definitely file a police report!

This is what I do. My Jeep is never locked, and the only thing in it is a cheap CB radio. I'd rather that stolen than the console/glovebox be damaged for no reason or the roof cut.

I have owned convertible for tweny five years and have never locked the doors. I don't leave anything in the jeep I can't afford to lose. I carry a small bag with my navigation and ipod. My tools are in a duffelbag in the back which I also take out. Sounds stupid but when they open the door and take the change they usually don't go any farther.

Sorry to hear about the break in. In case you are not familiar with Tuffy products. We make heavy duty steel locking consoles, console inserts, gloveboxes, etc. for the JK. They are a pretty serious theft deterrant in cases like yours.

In all seriousness I can honestly say just try not to leave your valuables in the Jeep. My CJ7 was robbed when I was in high school and they got the CD player, pack of smokes and a burned rap CD (yes they rooted through my CD's guess they didn't like country).
I bought a TUFFY cd player lockable console after that.
But whats really gonna stop anybody?
Sorry about getting robbed.
