Default Studder

Hello fellow Jeepers, I have a problem. What I am experiencing is at low MPH I am getting a studder. It's really weird it's not like it's cutting out but feels like a studder in power but only when I'm going around 20-30mph. Any idea what this could be??? Any help would be great.

I read on your profile that you're in an '07 automatic. The first thing I would do is make sure you have all the recalls taken care of. I know that the '07s had some bizarre firmware issues that caused all kinds of issues.

If that's not the problem, I think we'd need more info to diagnose the issue. I have an '07 auto and have no similar issues. Does it only happen when it's in drive, or in neutral at low rpm? I know that sometimes if you're low on transmission fluid or need a transmission flush that it can kind of skip when changing gears.

Good luck

Micah

How many miles are on it? Have you ever changed the spark plugs? I had a similar problem with my Dakota that I had and once I changed the plugs the problem went away...

Unsure of recalls but I will check and see if there are any outstanding. I have 75k for miles. It seems to only be in drive that I notice but then again I don't typically drive neutral. I will do my plugs this weekend and maybe that will be the fix. Hopefully it's something simple. I will update when the plugs are changed.

Again, double check your transmission fluid level as that causes some hesitation between gear changing for me. If you don't think it's transmission related, park on level ground, put the parking brake on, switch to neutral, and see if it happens while you're revving the engine.

Sounds tranny related, 75k miles it's overdue for a tranny fluid and filter change.

Do you experience this at a specific rpm?
