Ohio Revised Code (ORC) states the front bumper must cover the width of the tires. Meaning you can not have tire exposed. Guess I am out of luck, my new XHD doesn't cover at all.

My feelings are, if a cop wants to give you a bs ticket they will. I had a state trooper site me for 5 violations in one stop. I showed at court and had them all thrown out. But it was a pain in the a$$.

What sort of crackdowns have been ongoing?
Trucks and Jeeps with lifts having their plates pulled and reffered to an engineer for "safety approval".

One case in Grand Falls pulled due to a LEO claiming faulty mechanical issue due to a rubber boot on a shock. LEO thinking shock shaft was "bent" when it was a case of the rubber being bent. LEO Writes owner up, vehicle sent for inspection for recertification by a mechanical engineer to certify the road worthiness of a modified vehicle in NB cost of "certification" to the owner of vehicle...

Howz that for a slap in the face.

I've had lifted vehicles for a while, and I think it depends on the local laws and how the officer that pulls you over feels like enforcing them....same thing as tinted windows. I would check with your state laws.

Here in Virginia if an officer feels you are illegal he can cite you, but he cannot make the final determination to remove equipment, that is a judges job. However with illegal window tint the trooper can require immediate peel-off or towing will result.

The same protection would mean a stubby lol. The ends of the bumper are just plastic.
