Default Struggling with my decision NOT to get a 2012.

After my friend bought a 2012 and showed it off to me, I felt like a spoiled 13 year old, wanting a new 2012 and wanting it NOW! lol. So, I had the dealer run numbers for me on a 2012 and decided to just stick with my 2010.

I know I won't miss the higher payment, but I reeeeeeeally want the new steering wheel controls and the new 430 head unit. I know I can buy the 430, but I doubt I can get the steering wheel. I also like the tail gate prop and the 3.6 (obviously) and a few other things.

My main reason not to get the 2012 was, I would have to start over again with mods and with a higher jeep payment, it would take longer to mod the jeep. But now I am dealing with non-buyers remorse.

Feel free to call me a dumb ass if I made the wrong choice ... but also feel free to praise my decision of you think I made the right choice .

There will always be a newer Jeep out. Just about done paying off my 2010 and enjoy it too much to trade it in. Can't wait to use those monthly payments toward mods.

Chrysler can give me a call when they double the mpgs. Till then I am content.

Save your money and mod the jeep you have. You will have way more $ on hand for mods on your current Jeep after its paid off vs. Starting all over again on a "Newer" model. Personally I love my 2009...the only way I would ever consider selling it and getting a different JKU, is if there was a Stock Wrangler with factory Hemi ..

I was in your boat and pulled the trigger on a '12. in my case it was worth it because the '12 was 6k more than the pay off on the '10 and they let me switch my mods over to the '12 which were valued at about 5k. if i had owed less on me 2010 i'd still be driving it. even though there are improvents with drivetraun and interior it wouldnt be worth the loss.

That was also in my thought process.

G520, I think you made the right decision keeping your '10 Rubi.

I also had the "urge" after I heard about the new engine and 5-speed auto. But a week later it faded away.

Now if they come out with a New Rubi with a reliable strong diesel, bullet proof trans, Atlas 4-spd T-case, better drive shafts, D60s and 37" or larger tires, all with a 5/100 factory warranty. But adding no more than 10k to the price, I'd be all over it.

I was thinking of this earlier. But I was thinking: How can people abandon their Jeep? I have a deep connection with my Jeep... I don't think I could let it go ever. I have too many great memories. I'll be taking it to the grave. There will always be a newer and better Jeep out there... Keep your jeep, pay it off, and then mod the hell out of it.

Do what I do. Love the Jeep you have, pay it off, and wait and pray that we get a Jeep truck soon. I'd kill for one...
